With a lightness of touch, they travel through America, hopping from town to town casually asking questions about sexuality and getting a variety of different answers, almost all of them a lot more fluid than you might expect. What is bisexuality Is it just a fad Are you bi for a lifetime The changing sexual landscape of America shines through a teenage girl who says it s a boy one week, and a girl the next, perhaps a dancer who wants to never say never or an 11 year old boy who just cannot figure out where he wants to stand in terms of his sexuality. There is a view that there is no such thing, and there is of course, another that it is an abomination. Professors, artists, students, writers, biologists, dancers, drive-though employees all have their say. Bi the Way self-consciously avoids black and white answers, asking its audience to draw their own conclusions the film seems to want nothing more than to be what it is. In doing so, the film faithfully mirrors its subjects -searching, yearning, in-between.
