Duplass kardeşlerin bir önceki filmleri Pofuduk Koltuk un (!f 2008) çekimlerinde, ekipten biri aklınıza gelen en korkunç şey nedir sorusunu ortaya atmış. Aralarından biri hemen atlayıp kafasına kese kağıdı geçirmiş, camdan sana bakan bir adam demiş. While the Duplass brothers were shooting their last feature film The Puffy Chair (shown at !f 2008), a crew member raised the question what s the scariest thing you can think of. Someone immediately said a guy with a bag on his head staring at you through the window. Some agreed, but some thought it was downright ridiculous and, if anything, funny (but definitely not scary). Thus, Baghead was born, an attempt to take the absurdly low-concept idea of a guy with a bag on his head and make a funny, truthful, endearing film that, maybe, just maybe, was a little bit scary, too. In this clever scenario, four film star wannabes head out to a cabin deep in the woods to write a film script over a weekend. Their idea is to produce a masterpiece that gives them all great parts, even if ideas are a little thin on the ground. Once there, unsurprisingly, romance and sexual desire flourish, and then one of the characters sees (or imagines she sees) a man with a bag on his head. Baghead is that most wonderful of commodities: Utterly unclassifiable. A clever movie within a movie, an acutely observed comedy of relationships in French New Wave-style and yes, a killer-in-the-woods slasher film too. Duplass fans, rejoice!
